Vishal Sodha is the Chief Technology Officer at UPL Corp, leading the company's global Research & Development function and innovation strategy. As a member of the Crop Protection Executive Team (CPET), he provides overall leadership for the Global R&D organization, driving performance and scientific excellence while ensuring strong alignment with UPL's strategy, innovation priorities, and long-term growth agenda.

With more than two decades of experience across the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries, Vishal brings deep expertise in research and development, intellectual property, regulatory science, innovation strategy, and technology leadership. Since joining UPL in 2016, he has led several critical global functions, including Global Intellectual Property, OpenAg R&D, and Global Regulatory, playing a pivotal role in strengthening UPL's innovation ecosystem and advancing science-led growth across the business.

Prior to joining UPL, Vishal held leadership and technical roles across the pharmaceutical sector, building extensive experience in innovation, product development and intellectual property management. His multidisciplinary background enables him to bridge science, technology, business strategy, and commercialization to accelerate the delivery of differentiated solutions for farmers worldwide.

As CTO, Vishal is focused on advancing scientific excellence, strengthening global R&D capabilities, and leveraging digital technologies, strategic partnerships, and intellectual property to deliver sustainable innovation for agriculture.

Vishal holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), and has completed the Senior Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School, further strengthening his expertise in global leadership, innovation, and strategy.
