UPL’s OpenAg Arenas Bring Applied
Technology, Integrated Crop Management and Technical Training to Multiple
Regions of Brazil
UPL Agrosphere is the company’s
integrated solutions hub, focused on boosting efficiency, productivity and
economic returns for farmers.
UPL Brasil, part of UPL Ltd. (NSE: UPL,
BSE: 512070, LSE: UPLL), a global provider of sustainable agricultural
solutions, launched the OpenAg Arenas project on January 28 to promote
technology transfer, technical training and innovation for farmers, technical
influencers and industry specialists. The initiative will travel across Brazil
to demonstrate, in practice, how innovation drives transformation in
agriculture, delivering higher productivity, efficiency and economic return in
the field.
The first OpenAg Arena takes place from
January 28 to 30 in Campo Novo do Parecis (MT). The project will then move on
to other locations in Mato Grosso, the Center-West, Minas Gerais and Southern
Brazil through April.
Robison Serafim, CMO of UPL Brasil,
explains:
“The OpenAg Arenas reinforce our commitment to bringing integrated
solutions, innovation, new products and complete crop management strategies for
soybean and corn growers. This project materializes technology in the field and
serves as an important platform for technical training for UPL’s growers and
partners, aligned with our co‑creation purpose under OpenAg.”
Built within the Agrosphere structure, the
OpenAg Arenas feature four main technical fields where participants observe
comparative demonstrations and practical applications of UPL’s innovative
solutions, with emphasis on greener effects, resistance management, extreme
shock performance and integrated chemical–biological strategies.
In the resistance management field,
highlights include Thunder, a systemic herbicide for controlling
resistant weeds such as goosegrass and horseweed. In insecticides, Feroce
and Sperto, powered by Blast® Technology, stand out for
delivering extreme shock effects against pests such as brown stink bugs and
green belly stink bugs, alongside Propose, UPL’s new solution for
caterpillar management.
In fungicides, the Mancozeb Inside
concept incorporates solutions such as Evolution, which acts on multiple
metabolic targets, helping reduce resistance risk, minimize phytotoxicity and
increase productivity.
The OpenAg Arenas also highlight the NPP
(Natural Plant Protection) line, which goes beyond active ingredients by
integrating biosolutions such as Nimaxxa, Luminus, Nuvita and Kasumin,
designed to enhance plant resilience, support sustainability and deliver
effective economic returns.
