Du-Wett WeatherMAX - better safe than sorry
Du-Wett WeatherMAX combines the coverage benefits of the leading super spreader Du-Wett with rainfastness - saving money and giving greater grower certainty of spray performance under adverse weather conditions. As UPL NZ Ltd.’s Adjuvant Product Manager, David Lingan explains “If the weather packs in, you won’t have to worry.”
David says the product gives excellent spreading benefits, and it provides rain protection especially to protectant fungicides, which do not take much rain to wash them off the crop that it was applied to. “Du-Wett WeatherMax reduces the chances and the cost of re-dos of spray application, especially when large areas need to be re-applied.”
“It gives you the superior wetting, coverage and retention needed to maximise spray efficacy especially when it comes to difficult targets like grape bunches.
Additionally, he says, Du-Wett WeatherMAX is used with low water volumes. “That means you have quicker turnaround, and savings on fuel and labour.
“There’s less tank filling and getting around the crops is more efficient. The gains in time and significant savings in fuel costs and the cost of labour are noticeable. Plus, you have a great outcome.”
David says diseases including Botrytis and downy mildew flourish in the wet conditions. “Du-Wett WeatherMAX keeps sprays on the target.
“The more uniform coverage combined with reduced spray drift provides not only less waste, but a lessened risk of spray reaching non-target crops, or other nearby areas, and waterways. That’s not just about good land stewardship, it’s also part of being a good neighbour and responsible member of a rural community.”
David says, unlike other similar products, Du-Wett WeatherMAX doesn’t interfere with functions essential to plant health and growth, including photosynthesis and transpiration. “Some others work a bit like a glue. Du-Wett WeatherMAX is a synthetic latex, which doesn’t inhibit normal plant health or growth, or slow-down uptake of the spray’s active. It doesn’t encapsulate vapour-acting or systemic spray products.”
