KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (January 18, 2022) – UPL is expanding the availability of INTERMOC™ Herbicide in the United States for the 2022 growing season. For growers who face persistent troublesome weeds, INTERMOC is a unique combination of contact and residual herbicides that is designed to be a component of a season-long weed control program.

“INTERMOC will let growers control existing weeds that are already up in the field in addition to a residual that extends weed control during the growing season,” says Tom Mudd, UPL Marketing Manager, Corn and Soybean Herbicides. “Growers will have the ability to use INTERMOC as a broadcast burndown application prior to crop emergence in labeled conventional row crops or as a post-emergent application in glufosinate-tolerant cotton and soybeans.”

INTERMOC combines two popular herbicides from UPL: INTERLINE® and MOCCASIN®. With active ingredients glufosinate and S-metolachlor, INTERMOC is approved for use on glufosinate-tolerant soybeans and cotton, including LibertyLink varieties.

“With glufosinate, INTERMOC performs as a contact herbicide to control weeds that are already pressuring the crop for water, sunlight and nutrients. The S-metolachlor component of INTERMOC provides a layered residual approach to control the weed seed bank throughout the season. INTERMOC is well positioned as an early post option following a strong pre-emergent herbicide application such as MOCCASIN® MTZ or TRIPZIN™ ZC,” says Mudd.

There are application instructions on the label for over-the-top weed control across soybeans and cotton. This label is approved for the following key states — AL, AR, AZ, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WV, WI, and WY.
