16 August 2023 UPL Women’s Network AME Chapter hosted their inaugural “Women in
Agriculture Celebration” at the Mount Edgecombe Country Club in Durban South
Africa.
On 16 August
2023 UPL Women’s Network AME Chapter hosted their inaugural “Women in
Agriculture Celebration” at the Mount Edgecombe Country Club in Durban South
Africa. The event was held in honour of South Africa’s National Women’s Day
(which is celebrated on 9 August) and was attended by some 80 delegates ranging
from UPL staff and leadership, clients, stakeholders and suppliers.
The event
boasted two keynote speakers; Dr Phumla Mnganga, MD of
Lehumo Women’s Investment Holdings and Dr Imtiaz Sooliman, founder of the Gift of the Givers Foundation. To facilitate
inclusion, the event was also livestreamed to UPL AME and Global employees.
Ladies in attendance were treated to
beautiful shweshwe (traditional South African print) scarves and cosmetic bags,
crafted by a local women empowerment cooperative. Thank you to all who attended
