Shaping the Future of Farming

As the needs of farmers evolve, our goal is to evolve with them, staying in step with industry demands, the needs of our customers and the people they feed. Research and development are critical to our ability to keep pace with the industry, which is why UPL Corp continues to make significant investments in state-of-the-art equipment, advanced research facilities, and the development of an R&D team focused on finding and evaluating new solutions to meet farmers' ever-changing needs. As the agricultural landscape evolves, the UPL Corp new product pipeline is filled with a broad range of new products inspired by the farmers need to work more efficiently and productively.

Pioneering New Solutions

In addition to ongoing work with post-patent chemistries, our development pipeline includes new and differentiated products developed through innovative new molecules and active ingredients. We also have a team of dedicated scientists focused on pioneering biological solutions that not only benefit farmers but also reduce the environmental impact of agriculture. By 2027, we aim to have a balanced portfolio, with 50% of our products rooted in existing active Iingredients and the other 50% comprised of differentiated or sustainable brands. In FY 2024 we realized an innovation rate of 14%.

From Development to Delivery

Regardless of the end product, the exploration of potential new solutions begins at the OpenAg Center in North Carolina. Concepts that are proved then move on to one of our eight global OpenAg stations for in-field testing in real-world environmental conditions. More than 9000 trials are conducted each year focused on creating a solution tailored to fit the gap in the market. It’s not all testing and data collection. Our team of R&D experts work closely with regulatory, intellectual property, supply chain and marketing teams to successfully transition ideas into innovations.

Commitment to Collaboration

Our collaborative spirit doesn’t end with our internal teams. We are dedicated to an OpenAg® commitment, which champions collaboration at every level, within our teams and with external partners. Our willingness to collaborate with like-minded partners to create and bring to market solutions that address farmers’ pain points is one of the things that sets UPL Corp apart. This unique collaborative ability gives us the agility to analyze, evaluate, and adjust quickly throughout the development process.

Through every transformation, one thing has remained constant, our unwavering commitment to farmers. We are dedicated to developing holistic solutions that not only protect crops and deliver high-quality yields but also drive sustainable practices that safeguard the planet.
